ABOUT US

The Outside the Box Dropout Prevention is a charitable, Internal Revenue Services recognized, 501(c)(3), founded in 2013 for the purpose of reducing Austin's dropout rate.

 

PROJECT SERVICES

The Outside the Box Dropout Prevention develops, delivers and supports one-to-one tutoring and mentoring projects to school-aged children most at-risk of dropping out of school due to academic, social and economic barriers.

TARGET AUDIENCE

Montopolis, our targeted service area, is a community segregated by educational, occupational and economic inequality. Residents are confined to construction and service jobs and without a high school degree, lack the educational attainment to overcome challenges that significantly influence their child's occupational class, income prosperity and life prospects.

The Outside the Box Dropout Prevention's mission is to provide families from economically disadvantaged communities a strong educational partner outside the school environment.

COMMUNITY VISION

The Outside the Box Dropout Prevention's community vision is to academically empower, unite and advance school-aged children and families from economically disadvantaged communities, so that all students prosper in Austin's  global, technology-driven economy.

PARTNERSHIPS

The Outside the Box Dropout Prevention collaborates with the City of Austin-Montopolis Recreation Center, Ruiz Branch Library, SafePlace and service-learning volunteers from the University of Texas to provide struggling learners a safe, positive, welcoming learning environment, where all students thrive and achieve academically, socially and personally.
